Poker Update

It has been a pretty rough start of the year for me so far in 2011. I can't seem to get over the hump and catch the heater. I did win the $162 on PokerStars a few weeks back for 15.5k and I've got some other 5-8k scores in various tournaments. I've had a lot of final table bubbles over the past few weeks also in some pretty big tournaments. I got a 11th in the FTP 163 on a Sunday that was 54k to win where I got QQ in versus A9o to be 3 of 10, instead I was crippled and out 11th. I also got 11th in the Stars 109 turbo at 830pm on the same Sunday when it was 20k to win, where I was 1 of 12 and debacled. Earlier this week I got 10th in the 162 on Stars where I lost a pretty big flip on the river. I feel like I'm playing really well though, and have been putting in a lot of volume so hoping I can break through soon.

On the live front, my next live tournament will be the $10k WPT event at the Hollywood Casino on April 9th in Lawrenceburg IN. It should be a pretty soft tournament as there is a NAPT event going on at the same time, and something else but can't think of what it is off the top of my head. After this tourney, I don't expect to play live again until the WSOP this summer in Vegas. We got our house booked, and will be staying out there for 6 weeks. My plan is to play as many live tournaments as possible, I'm just hoping not to get burnt out.

The NCAA opening weekend was a lot of fun hanging out with my friends and enjoying some cocktails. Hopefully this time next year we will see IU in it as the future looks brights with the recruits we have coming in over the next few years. Purdue lost their National Championship(to get into the Sweet 16) game last night getting humiliated by VCU. It is really funny listening to all the boilermaker fans rip on Tom Crean and IU, when what has Matt Painter actually done since he has been there? He had 3 of the best recruits still left from the 2007 recruiting class, yet he won 1 Big Ten title that he shared with two other teams, and couldn't get them into the elite 8. Granted Robbie Hummel has been hurt for most of his career, but it still has to be disappointing to them. At IU, we are expecting final fours, national championships, at Purdue they play to get into the Sweet 16 which is also known as the National Championship in West Lafayette, IN. But hey, whatever floats your boat ya know? On that note, Boiler Out as your time is over. Now it is time for the Hoosiers!
